We have an excellent opportunity for a People Business Partner to join the team as the Ivy brand continues to grow and expand.
The People Business Partner is responsible for delivering proactive, commercially focused HR support to a group of restaurants within The Ivy Collection, Ivy Asia & Harry’s portfolio [TROIA]. Acting as a trusted advisor to Operations Directors and General Managers, the PBP drives people strategies that enable exceptional guest experiences, high-performing teams, and sustainable business growth.
This is a field based role, ideally located in or around Manchester or Liverpool area, with occasional visits to Dublin, Belfast and Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with Operational Leaders (FOH & BOH) and Senior Restaurant leaders across your region
- Act as the first point of contact for senior leaders on HR matters, coaching and influencing to drive people and performance outcomes.
- Translate business goals into aligned people plans, ensuring HR initiatives add value to operational deliver
- Partner with resourcing teams to support attraction strategies for high-volume and management recruitment.
- Drive succession planning and internal talent pipelines to reduce dependency on external hires.
- Support retention by analysing turnover trends, engaging with exit/engagement data, and shaping action plan
- Lead on complex ER cases (grievances, disciplinary, capability, absence), ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with employment law.
- Coach managers to build capability in handling employee relations at site level.
- Partner with Learning & Development to identify needs and deliver local solutions
- Support the annual performance review cycle, pay and bonus processes, and recognition initiatives
- Collaborate with finance and operations to align workforce planning with budget and sales forecast.
- Partner on organisational change (openings, restructures, TUPE, integration of new sites)
Key Skills Required
- Proven HR generalist/business partner experience in multi-site, fast-paced hospitality, retail, or leisure.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law [if applicable: exposure to Republic of Ireland preferred].
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and coaching operational leaders.
- Analytical and commercial mindset – able to use data to shape people strategy.
- Confident communicator and influencer with credibility at senior level.
- Resilient, adaptable, able to balance strategic projects with hands-on problem solving.
- Passionate about hospitality, people, and delivering exceptional employee and guest experiences.
